Avigilon access control solution integrates with Virdi fingerprint authentication:

Avigilon Corporation announced that its new Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM) offers integration with Virdi’s biometric fingerprint reader technology. Earlier this month at IFSEC International, Avigilon previewed the access control’s integration capabilities with Virdi’s fingerprint reader as well as showcasing its other solutions.

Avigilon’s ACM provides a flexible and scalable solution designed to secure the identity of people, as well as access to property and assets.

The integration of ACM with Virdi’s biometric authentication adds another identification form to high security environments. Virdi’s patented live and fake fingerprint detection technology leverages human capacitance, infrared light and advanced algorithms to deliver advanced accuracy and speed at access points.

“Biometric access control is a rapidly growing requirement for securing facilities,” said Cory Bellamy, Virdi international managing director. “We’re excited to be integrating with Avigilon’s Access Control Manager, as it will provide our customers with a solution that enhances their security systems.”

The Virdi USB fingerprint reader can be connected to a client machine for fast and seamless enrollment,.

Additionally, users can configure and manage biometric identities directly from Avigilon’s ACM software.

The company’s ACM system integration with Virdi’s biometric fingerprint reader technology will be available to order in the third quarter.

“With the continued fast-paced growth of Avigilon’s access control solutions, integrating with Virdi’s system opens up more options for our customers,” explained James Henderson, Avigilon’s chief operating officer. “This provides them with an added layer of security for accurate and fast identity recognition in high security environments.”
